Terms of use
These terms of use apply to anyone using this website about my private eye practice. They explain what the information here is for, how appointment requests work and the limits of my responsibility.
Last updated: 30/10/2026
1. About this website
This website gives information about my private ophthalmology practice as Miss Sonia Mall, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon (GMC number 6129624).
2. Medical information
Everything on this website is general information. It is not a substitute for a consultation, and reading it does not make you my patient. I can only advise on your own eyes after I have examined you.
If your sight changes suddenly, do not wait for an appointment or a reply from me. For new flashes or floaters, or a shadow across your vision, get an urgent Optometrist appointment or use NHS 111 the same day. For a painful red eye with sensitivity to light or loss of vision, call 999 or go to A&E, as the NHS red eye guidance advises.
I keep the medical pages up to date, but treatments and guidance change.
3. Appointments and fees
Sending a form through this website is a request, not a booked appointment. Appointments are confirmed directly with me or with the hospital, and I aim to reply within 24 hours.
Fees are shown on the fees and insurance page. Treatment and surgery are quoted after assessment, and each hospital sets its own package price and terms, which it will give you before treatment.
If you are insured, it is your responsibility to check your cover and any excess with your insurer. Some insurers need a GP or Optometrist referral and pre-authorisation before treatment.
4. Links to other websites
This website links to other sites, including the hospitals where I work, online booking pages, insurers, review platforms, YouTube and NHS information. I am not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
5. Using this website
Please use the site lawfully. In particular, please do not:
- try to interfere with how the website works or gain access to parts that are not public.
- send anything harmful, offensive or misleading through the forms.
- use the forms to send detailed medical records; I will inform you of a more secure way to send them
6. Copyright
The text, images, films and design of this website belong to me or are used with permission. You may print or share pages for your own use, but not copy them for commercial use without asking.
7. Liability
I take care to keep the information accurate, but I cannot promise the website will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Your information
How I use any information you send to me is explained in my privacy policy and cookie policy, which follow UK data protection law as set out in the government’s data protection guide.
9. Governing law
These terms of use are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
10. Accessibility of this website
I want every patient to be able to use this website, including people with sight loss. Pages are built to be read with screen readers and zoomed text, and films carry captions where YouTube provides them. If any part of the site is hard to use, please tell me by email or phone and I will try to give you the same information another way, such as by post or over the phone.
11. Changes to these terms
I may update the terms of use from time to time, for example when the website changes or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when the website was last updated. If you keep using the website after a change, the updated terms apply.
