Where I practise
Private eye clinics in Surrey and Buckinghamshire
I see patients at three private eye clinics in Surrey, in Woking, Chertsey and Guildford, and at VISIO Health near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Choose the hospital that suits you; wherever you are seen, you deal with me directly.
Hospitals
Choose where you are seen.
Four hospitals, one surgeon you can call.

Nuffield Health Woking

Mount Alvernia Hospital

VISIO Health

Which hospital should you choose?
Most people choose the hospital closest to home, and that matters more than it sounds after cataract surgery. The NHS advises that you do not drive yourself home, and I normally suggest waiting 2 weeks before you drive again, so someone may need to bring you to early check-ups. A few other points help:
- if you are claiming on insurance, check that your policy covers the hospital you prefer
- ask the hospital about parking: Nuffield Health Woking and VISIO Health have free on-site parking, and space is limited at The Runnymede and Mount Alvernia
- retinal laser is new in my clinic, so ask which hospital offers it
- ask the hospital for its self-pay package price and finance options before you decide
What stays the same wherever you are seen?
The hospital changes; the way I work does not. At each one I see you myself for your consultation, explain your options before any treatment, give you written aftercare instructions and see you at your follow-up appointments. If you have a question between visits, it comes to me, not to a switchboard.

How do I book at one of my private eye clinics in Surrey?
Book online through the hospital links above, or request an appointment and I will find a time that suits you. You do not need a GP referral to see me privately.
Even so, the NHS suggests asking your GP for a referral letter when you see a private specialist, because it passes on your medical history; the NHS guide to referrals for specialist care explains why. Some insurers also need a referral from your GP or Optometrist before they will pay.
Questions about my hospitals
Will I see Miss Mall at every hospital?
Yes. I run my own clinics at all four hospitals, so the surgeon you meet at your consultation is the one who treats you and sees you afterwards.
How quickly will you reply?
Call 07438 437366 or email enquiries@soniamall.co.uk. I aim to reply within 24 hours. There is no call centre between us, so you speak to me directly about your eyes and your booking.
Do you see patients from outside Surrey?
Yes. I see patients from Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and further afield in the UK. If you live in Buckinghamshire, VISIO Health in Wooburn Green may be easier to reach than my Surrey hospitals.
Is there parking, and can I drive to my appointment?
Nuffield Health Woking and VISIO Health have free on-site parking. The Runnymede and Mount Alvernia have limited on-site spaces, with pay and display bays outside Mount Alvernia. If your pupils are widened with drops at your appointment, your sight may be blurred for a few hours, so it is safer to ask someone to drive you or to book a taxi.
